I used documents to piece together a chance meeting between the CEO and two men who claimed they needed copper wire for an Indian charity teaching disabled Cherokee children. The men went on to steal 20 tons of copper from a city scrap yard. As a result of a series of stories by the Times, including this piece, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray did not grant a potential $60,000 raise to Seattle's highest paid city employee, City Light CEO Jorge Carrasco, citing poor decision making and management.

This package was a finalist in Best Multimedia Reporting at the Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence Awards Region 11 contest.

Shot using Sony Sony NXCAM and Sony XDCAM and edited using Adobe Premiere CC.

Inspired by my friends' pending nuptials, I created an interactive graphic to explore the costs of getting hitched. I used Adobe Illustrator CC and Adobe Edge Animate CC.
The connection between veterans and residents of this small town couldn’t be clearer, from welcome home signs and yellow ribbons to packed memorials for fallen soldiers. This story was a finalist in Online Feature Reporting at the Society of Professional Journalists’ Mark of Excellence Awards Region 11 contest.
